A pound of ice will shave enough ice for 2-3 sno cones. Our sno cone machine is a commercially made machine that will make the task of making a sno cones a breeze. It’s attractive design makes it appealing to your guests and user friendly for the attendant. I know this is a super random post, but I've been thinking about the lack of snow cones in Denver for the last 3 years after I had talked to a buddy who owns snow cone stands in my hometown.MagicSpecialEventsRVA Sno Cone Machine Cart, Snow Cone Machine – Cart or Wagon Styleĭescription: Our machine can shave enough ice to make 1,000 sno cones per hour. If the humidity is actually an issue though, it may just not be possible to produce high quality shaved ice in Denver. I'm not sure how large a role humidity actually plays)Ī possible solution to most these issues would be a mobile snow cone truck vs a stationary shack. I'll note that snow cones from low quality ice shaving machines or snow cones that have been sitting out for a while will also have this single chunk of hard ice (using a higher quality ice shaver and only serving fresh snow cones will mitigate most of this issue. ![]() Shaved ice in high humidity will melt more quickly but will be much softer and more enjoyable, and it will hold the flavoring better. While low humidity does cause things to melt less quickly, this is not beneficial for shaved ice as it causes the ice to melt together slightly then harden into a single chunk, with the flavoring channeled to the bottom. Iii) People don't enjoy cold treats in Denver because it does not get that hot here (nah, see Little Man Ice Cream's line, even when it's cold).Īnd lastly, what I believe to be one of the main reasons: Ii) Snow cones are cheap, so you'd have to sell a very high volume to be profitable - maybe it's not worth the work (relatively low overhead for supplies and staff though, and if you go with a snow cone truck high rent is not a concern). I) Snow cone stands are generally in corners of parking lots and Denver parking spaces are already very scarce and renting the space, even if you found space to rent, would not be economical (snow cone truck maybe?). I'm wondering why they aren't more popular here, and I have some thoughts: I've seen 2 or 3 sit down places that have snow cones (not their main product) and a crappy carnival snow cone machine at an event a few times, but I'm from a part of the country (south/midwest) where snow cone stands are super common on most busy street corners. I'm referring specifically to shaved ice in this post. No concern trolling, gaslighting, misinformation, brigading.ĮDIT: I now realize there is a difference between snow cones and shaved ice (aka Hawaiin ice, shave-ice).
